GAO INTOSAI and International Capacity Development Webinar
On October 19, 2021, the U.S. Comptroller General in celebrated GAO’s 100th anniversary with a conversation on the history and future of GAO’s involvement with the international public sector auditing community. This virtual event highlighted GAO’s collaboration with INTOSAI and contributions to SAI capacity development. Panelists included the INTOSAI General Secretariat, GAO’s representatives on key INTOSAI bodies, the Center for Audit Excellence, the INTOSAI Development Initiative, and the World Bank.

On August 31, 2021, as part of GAO's centennial, GAO and other experts discussed how the effective design and implementation of merit principles continue to impact the federal government's ability to attract a talented, high performing workforce that is diverse, equitable, and inclusive.
GAO Centennial Capstone Event
On Wednesday, July 14, we hosted a virtual event to observe our centennial birthday. This online ceremony marked the opening of GAO’s doors on July 1, 1921, and the agency’s efforts over the past century to improve government performance, increase transparency, and save taxpayer dollars.
